At 3 p.m. on an October Thursday in Alys Beach, three town center kitchens are now serving. The Citizen's daily oyster happy hour runs from 2 to 5. Indaco pours its bar aperitivo from 2:30 to 4. O-Ku opens for dinner at 4. That stretch of late afternoon is the clearest change to the town center this year. It also matches the rest of the fall calendar. Most of what's on between now and New Year's Eve is free or cheap, open to drop-ins, and timed around the hours before dinner. The ticketed nights make up a smaller share of the season.
Indaco's first fall
Indaco is the modern Italian restaurant from Indigo Road Hospitality Group. It sits at 40 Mark Twain Lane, Suite 101, beside its sister restaurant O-Ku, which the group opened in 2024. The Northwest Florida Daily News reported a July 2 debut. The opening release posted on SoWal that same day said it would open "tomorrow." Either way, October is its first fall season.
The sourcing is regional. In a WJHG feature, Executive Chef Dakota Watson said the wood for the pizza oven comes from a farm in southern Alabama: oak, hickory, and cherry, kiln-dried and delivered. The same report said the seafood comes from Apalachicola and the honey from Bristol, Florida, bottled in Blountstown. General Manager Elizabeth Mathis told the station that the Alys Beach community has "really, really taken us in."
The current dinner menu includes lamb and peach pizzas and house pastas such as Triangoli and Radiatori. There's also a chef-curated, three-course family-style option called "For the Table" at $70 per person, up from the $65 listed in the opening release.
The schedule matters more than the menu for a local. The Alys Beach merchant directory lists Indaco this way:
- Dinner: daily, 4 to 10 p.m.
- Lunch: weekdays, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Brunch: weekends, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Bar aperitivo: daily, 2:30 to 4 p.m.
That aperitivo window starts half an hour after The Citizen's oyster happy hour and ends just as O-Ku opens on weeknights. With three restaurants on overlapping afternoon hours, the town center now has a real early-evening option before the dinner crowd arrives.
October runs on Tuesdays and one Thursday
The next few weeks of the calendar fit that same pre-dinner timing. NEAT Bottle Shop hosts Wine + Song on Tuesdays from 5 to 7 p.m. October 13 is Max McCann, October 20 is Steven Theriot, and October 27 is Corey Hall. Four wines cost $30 per person. NEAT's posted daily hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., so the music ends when the shop closes.
Thursday, October 22, is the busiest day of the month. Howl-O-Ween + Merchant Trick-or-Treating runs from 4 to 7 p.m. in Town Center. It has a dog-and-owner costume contest, trick-or-treating at the shops, and a DJ. The same day, the Garden & Gun Society and Friends Gathering begins a four-day program through October 25, with dinners, conversations, tours, outdoor excursions, and live music. If you're heading into town that Thursday afternoon, expect more people around than on a typical October weekday.
Crafted, and the part that needs no ticket
Alys Beach Crafted is the biggest weekend of the fall. It grew out of Firkin Fête, which debuted in 2019, and all proceeds benefit the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County. The Alys Beach events calendar lists it as November 11 to 14. The Crafted schedule itself runs through Sunday, November 15, adding a final market day.
The 2026 brochure says the Holiday Makers Market is open to the public and "All other events are ticketed." Laid out by day, the free portion takes up more of the calendar than the ticketed one:
| Day | Event | Time and place | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wed., Nov. 11 | 30A Songwriters Round Table | Red Loggia at Caliza | Ticketed |
| Thu., Nov. 12 | Three experiential dinners | 5 p.m., three venues | Ticketed |
| Fri., Nov. 13 | Holiday Makers Market | 2 to 4:30 p.m., Amphitheatre | Free, public |
| Fri., Nov. 13 | Firkin Fête | 6:30 to 9 p.m., Central Park | Ticketed |
| Sat., Nov. 14 | Holiday Makers Market | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Amphitheatre | Free, public |
| Sat., Nov. 14 | Spirited Soirée | 1 to 4 p.m., North Sea Garden Walk | Ticketed |
| Sun., Nov. 15 | Holiday Makers Market | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Amphitheatre | Free, public |
That's three free market sessions across three days. Each ticketed event happens once. The Friday market even closes at 4:30, two hours before Firkin Fête starts, so you can browse the Amphitheatre and still catch Indaco's aperitivo or The Citizen's oyster hour.
The ticketed side has named talent. All three Thursday dinners start at 5 p.m.:
- Foursquare Rum Distillery with Chef Rob McDaniel and cocktail creator José Medina Camacho, at the Red Loggia at Caliza.
- Brown-Forman Spirits at George's at Alys Beach, with Chef Camille Withall and Nicole Greenwell of Pearl & Horn.
- Menagerie Wines with Alys Beach Culinary and Chef Drew Dzejak at The Summerhouse at the Silva, with photographer David Yarrow also named.
Firkin Fête promises firkin beer tastings, food from chefs, and live music by Scott T. Smith. The Spirited Soirée event page says food and drink are included. Cocktails & Clay is a cocktail-and-pottery workshop led by ceramicist Sarah Bumanglag at The Summerhouse at the Silva. Its date isn't settled yet: the schedule lists Friday at 2:30 p.m., while the event description says November 14, with doors at 2:30 and the workshop from 3 to 5. The Songwriters Round Table has a similar mismatch, listed at 5:30 p.m. on its page and 6 to 9 p.m. in the brochure.
Some details aren't public yet. As of this writing, the ticketing listing shows no prices. The participant page says the 2026 roster of chefs, mixologists, distilleries, and artisans will be shared "very soon," and the names it currently shows are from 2025. Among the town center's restaurants, George's is the only one named in the published 2026 schedule so far.
After Crafted, the calendar gets cheaper still
The free pattern continues into the holidays. Alys in Winter Wonderland is Friday, November 27, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Alys Beach Amphitheatre. A holiday concert starts at 4. There's cookie decorating at $3 a set, letters to Santa, holiday photos by EPIC on the splash pad, face painting, and photos with Santa for $3. The tree lighting with Santa is at 6:30.
December has three dates. The Alys Foundation Gala is December 27 in Central Park, with more information still to come. Alys Classics, a movie-and-picnic night at The Silva, is December 29 from 6 to 9 p.m., and its timing may change. Noon Year's Eve is December 31 from 10 a.m. to noon. It's free and public, with music, crafts, face painting, an inflatable snow globe, and a bar from Fonville Press.
The hours behind all of it
Each of these events lands better with a meal or a coffee before or after it. Here's the town center's food and beverage lineup, from the merchant directory, which carries a July 29, 2026 publication date. No fall-specific hours have been posted, so call ahead before you plan around a time.
- Fonville Press Market & Café: market, café, coffee shop, and cocktail bar, daily 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Charlie's Delights: the donut-and-sweets stop, daily 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Raw & Juicy: daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., plus dinner Wednesday through Sunday, 5 to 8 p.m.
- The Citizen: lunch and brunch Wednesday through Sunday, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; oyster happy hour daily, 2 to 5 p.m.; dinner daily, 5 to 10 p.m.
- George's: lunch daily, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; dinner daily, 5 to 9 p.m.
- O-Ku: Monday through Thursday, 4 to 10 p.m.; Friday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- NEAT Bottle Shop: wines by the glass and neat pours, daily 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Indaco: aperitivo daily, 2:30 to 4 p.m.; dinner daily, 4 to 10 p.m.
On a Crafted Saturday, the free market closes at 2 p.m. From there you can walk to The Citizen's oyster hour, then Indaco's aperitivo, then an early table at O-Ku, which opens at 11 on weekends.
